Going Against The Grain – A Wednesday Wedding

When you think of weddings, your mind usually goes to Saturday’s, especially in the spring or fall. Walker and Zanna decided to go against the grain—and I absolutely here for it. Instead of waiting until spring like they originally planned, they tied the knot on a Wednesday surrounded by family, faith, and a whole lot of horsepower.

What made their day so special wasn’t just the date, but how they chose to make their wedding uniquely theirs.

A Wedding That Fit Them

From the very start, Walker and Zanna wanted a celebration that reflected who they are. For them, that meant including the things that matter most in their lives—like Walker’s truck, a ruby red Peterbilt that played just as much a role in their portraits as the bouquet or the rings. We captured moments of Zanna perched gracefully on the chrome grill, and the two of them sharing kisses next to the glowing lights of the truck at dusk. Those images felt like the perfect blend of romance and real life—their world, their story. It was only fitting as they spend their honeymoon cattle hauling across the country.

Inside the church, Zanna walked down the aisle with her son, a heartfelt moment that was meaningful to every guest. Their ceremony was pure and genuine, and when they walked back up the aisle together as husband and wife, their joy was undeniable.

Why Weekday Weddings Are Wonderful

I’ll be honest: I thought it was iconic that they decided to go for a weekday wedding. A lot of couples feel locked into the “traditional” weekend wedding timeline, but Walker and Zanna proved that it doesn’t have to be that way. By choosing Wednesday, they embraced a little spontaneity and showed that a last-minute wedding can be just as meaningful, beautiful, and fun as one planned months—or even years—in advance.

There was no pressure to do things the “normal” way. Instead, their day felt relaxed, intentional, and completely true to them. Sometimes the best memories are made when you step outside of tradition.

A Celebration to Remember

The evening ended with portraits in wide open fields, the golden tones of fall grass perfectly matching their western-inspired style.

Every detail of this day reflected their personalities and their love—proving that weddings don’t have to fit a mold to be meaningful. They can be simple, spontaneous, unique, and just as magical as the biggest celebrations.

Walker and Zanna’s Wednesday wedding was a reminder that the best part of a wedding isn’t the day of the week—it’s the people you share it with, and the memories you make along the way.
